Just redone an older song from scratch with my 68 50w small box Plexi. No EQ on the guitars, just some tape style echo and reverb. Guitar was my main 78 Les Paul straight into the Marshall with no pedals inbetween.
This is the first track that I have played all the instruments on including the drums so I got to dust off my old Ludwig kit. Think I will get a real drummer in for the album version though ;-)
Quite happy with the sounds I am getting in my studio now.

I love playing through this amp.

All the very best.
Vinny.

Sounds great, Vinny. Got some real 'meat' to the sound there, but still nicely balanced.

The harmonies are double-tracked then, rather than shifted?

What's the rest of the signal chain?

All the best,

Bob. Smile

Yes, that's just the amp gain. The Les Paul is plugged into the top left input. All tones up full and the volume is on 8. Has a bit more gain with volume on 10 but I prefer the sound on 8. More open
Thanks for listening.
All the best.
Vinny.

Cheers Chris. Not as savage as the SLO but still sweet.
All the very best.

The main guitar theme harmonies are just played on 3 Tracks but I could have done it all on 2 tracks. Two of the parts were afterthoughts so I used a third track for those.
The mandolin/guitar sound where the harmony comes in on the second chorus is the guitar turned down to 7 and trying to mimic a mandolin. Those parts are two harmonies with 3 guitars for each harmony. On the very last section where the drums drop out the mandolin/guitar part drops to two tracks for each harmony. It's weird that they actually sound more like strings.
I have made it sound more complicated than it is haha.
The cab was my green Special Edition Marshall 4x12. I think it's just a standard 1960b but I have never had the back off. Just like the sound of it for that 68 Plexi.
The mic was my AKG 414 and the preamp was my Focusrite ISA428. Signal then goes digitally out of that into the Motu 828 mK2 via Adat lightpipe so it does not use the Motu convertors.
Delay was Tape Delay in Logic set like a Watkins Copycat and the reverb is TC Powercore VSS3 with my guitar instrumental reverb preset I made called Obsession after a certain album by a certain band with a certain German guitarist haha.
All the very best.
Vinny.
